Angelina Jolie doesn't want Megan Fox to take Tomb Raider

Ageing beauty Angelina seems somewhat threatened by young hottie of the moment Megan.

ANGELINA JOLIE is said to be furious that Transformers starlet MEGAN FOX has been tipped to nab her leading role in the next Tomb Raider film. The prequel will focus on Lara Croft's younger years - and Oscar-winner Angie looks set to be given the boot in favour of the fresher-faced Meg. A source said: "Angie was intent on reprising her role. She feels it's something she helped define and feels robbed that it looks likely to be handed to someone who she considers less capable than her." The first two Tomb Raider films raked in £262million worldwide with Angelina playing the gun-slinging archaeologist so I can understand why she's a bit miffed. But the new movie's executive producer, DAN LIN, told about.com: "It is an origin story so it is a younger Lara Croft. It will have character-driven action." And given that BRAD PITT's missus is 11 years Meg's senior, it would seem logical to hand the role to a younger model.

A source added: "Angie isn't a fan of the Transformers films and believes Megan won't do the Lara Croft character justice. She's also annoyed because she thinks Megan copies everything from her, from her tattoos to her style." And Angelina isn't going to take it lying down - she is using her industry "experience" to launch a counter-attack. It is rumoured she is working on a new all-action project which she hopes will challenge Meg's Tomb Raider effort. An insider said: "Angelina is collaborating on a concept with a new sexy female action character which will absolutely blow Megan out of the water."

But it seems even Angelina's DAD thinks Megan is a good choice to take over as Lara - because she is just as "sexy". Veteran actor JON VOIGHT, who has been estranged from Angelina for years, said: "They're both very beautiful and they're both kind of sexy girls." But he thinks Megan won't fully match his daughter unless she becomes more charitable. He explained: "Maybe Megan will start doing the things that Angie is so well known for. Angie is known for helping with kids and for her concern for others. I think that would be wonderful for all of the kids if Megan were to do the same."

I find this odd as Lara Croft has no character. She's just a hottie with big boobs that does adventure stuff... A bit like Megan's Transformers character now I come to think of it. In both cases they're window dressing to get geeks excited.
